We're delighted to announce that we've won the National Operatic and Dramatic Association's regional It's Behind You award for our 2024 pantomime Treasure Island directed by Peter and Beth Reynolds in January. The panto's many corny jokes helped earn it success in a contest judged across NODA's London region, including Greater London, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and parts of Kent, Essex and Sussex.
As a small drama group up against dozens of societies across the Greater London area, we're more than thrilled to have won this award for the second time, having previously won it back in 2019 for our Cinderella panto.
Cate Naylor of NODA who judged Treasure Island said: “This was an enjoyable pantomime full of corny jokes, and a funny messy scene. The cast worked very well together and there were some very strong performances.”
In fact, Peter King’s performance as Long John Silver was so good that he won the award for the best panto actor in the Reading area!
Huge congratulations to Peter King for his performance and to Peter and Beth Reynolds for putting together a unique but traditional show full of piratical action and catchy songs. The cast and their audiences really enjoyed themselves.
Fancy being part of the fun yourself? Come down to Loddon Hall on October 15th and 17th for the readthrough and auditions for our 2025 pantomime, Buttons' Dream.
